Skip out on the traditional summer camp this year and do something a little different. Instead of roasting s’mores, why not grab yourself a frozen hot chocolate and enjoy Christmas a few months early while helping kids in need along the way?
Christmas Is Not Canceled is a fun and interactive charity that brings fans, celebrities, and popular brands together. Beginning July 1st, 2022, Christmas lovers can virtually attend Camp Christmas in July. As the name suggests, it’s a virtual summer camp throughout the month of July that’s centered around Christmas and holiday TV movies. Thanks to sponsors such as GAC Family, Balsam Hill, and Frndly TV, participants can enjoy different Zoom events with their pre-assigned teams. You can play different games, enjoy fun, and enter contests to win prizes as you form a sense of community with your new friends. Meanwhile, all donations go towards helping kids in need get ready for the upcoming school year.
Once you register, you’ll be assigned to one of four different teams: Jingle Jangles, Tinsel Troop, Rudolph’s Rebels, and Grinch Gang. You’ll take part in fun activities including a Balsam Hill Design Challenge, Campfire S’mores with the Hunks, and a Celebrity Game Night. Speaking of celebrities, attendees can expect plenty of appearances from some of their favorite Christmas movie stars such as Candace Cameron Bure, Danica McKeller, Lacey Chabert, Tamera Mowry, Andrew Walker and Paul Greene. Founder Jen Lilley is a Christmas movie star herself having appeared in Mingle All The Way, Royally Wrapped For Christmas, USS Christmas and several others. She is also the official host of GAC Family's Great American Christmas In July.
More About Christmas Is Not Canceled
Before founding Christmas Is Not Cancelled, Jen Lilley and Ale Boggiano were unhappy with how many charitable fundraisers operated. Both had worked for non-profits for years; Jen as a brand ambassador and Ale as head of PR and marketing. Since they both wanted to do more to help, they decided to team up in 2020 to create a series of virtual events that promoted giving, acts of kindness, and the chance for its participants to win fun prizes. And this all happens while raising money and school supplies to help children in need.
Each year, proceeds raised by Christmas Is Not Canceled gives backpacks full of school supplies to thousands of children. They also provide brand new pajamas for children in the foster care system. Along with their own yearly drives, they also work with several other charity organizations based in the United States. These include:
Toys for Tots - Hands out toys, books, and other gifts to children whose parents are unable to afford Christmas presents
Childhelp - Provides aid to victims of child abuse and works to prevent further cases from happening again.
Comfort Cases - Gives out suitcases to children in the foster care system to replace the trash bags that they carry their clothes in.
United Service Organization (USO) - Provides social facilities, live entertainment, and other programs to members of the Armed Forces and their families.
