Thanks to GAC Family, we can enjoy Christmas in July on the Fourth of July!
For some time now, the TV network had hinted that they were planning something big for this year’s Independence Day Weekend. But on June 15th, 2022, they finally announced their special programming on all of their social media platforms. This year, fans can celebrate the Fourth of July with a 24/7 Christmas Special, which they have officially dubbed their first ever Great American Christmas in July.
Starting at midnight on July 2nd, GAC TV will play a constant rotation of their original movies throughout the entirety of the Fourth of July Weekend. Although they have yet to give any details about the movies themselves, or if there are any brand new ones. But that hasn’t stopped the network's most devoted fans from taking to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to voice their excitement. They’re hoping to see some of their Christmastime favorites, including A Christmas Star and When Hope Calls Christmas. As the event gets closer, more announcements will likely follow regarding its Independence Day Weekend schedule and other summer specials.
About GAC Family
Formerly known as Great American Country, GAC Family has given us plenty of great year-round entertainment since its founding in 1995. It started off as a country music network, but soon shifted more into country lifestyle when it was acquired by Scripps Networks. However, since becoming privately owned in 2021, GAC TV now focuses almost entirely on made-for-tv movies and classic family sitcoms under the leadership of former Crown Media Networks CEO, Bill Abbott. With this new format and new leadership, it’s no surprise that GAC has become so popular when the holiday season rolls around.
GAC Family has quickly joined the ranks of holiday heavy-hitters like Lifetime and Hallmark Channel, who also has their own holiday programming scheduled for this weekend. In fact, many actors who had previously been regulars in Hallmark movies, such as Trevor Donovan, Jesse Metcalfe, Jen Lilley, Danica McKellar, and even Candace Cameron Bure have now signed exclusive contracts with GAC TV to appear in their original movies and specials.
GAC TV also recently announced an app, Great American Community, which is scheduled to launch September 2022. This app will allow viewers to access exclusive content and possibly even view some of their favorite GAC programming. The Elf Squad has a feeling there will be plenty of holiday content to be enjoyed on there, as well.
When Independence Day comes around this year, forget all about the barbecues and fireworks. Instead, let’s bake some cookies, grab a cup of (frozen) hot chocolate, and sit down in front of the television to enjoy GAC Family’s Great American Christmas in July!
