These days, networks and streaming services give us more and more of them every year, meaning there's still plenty of fun to be had after the Christmas special season comes to a close.

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest
It just wouldn’t be New Year’s Eve without this fifty-year-old special in the heart of Times Square. And Ryan Seacrest is back for his 18th year of hosting. Joining him in New York City by Liza Koshy and Jessie James Decker, with Billy Porter hosting in New Orleans, Ciara at Disneyland in Anaheim, and DJ D-Nice in Los Angeles. As for the always-amazing musical guests, we’ve got Duran Duran, New Edition, Fitz & the Tantrums, Ben Platt, Shaggy Wiz Khalifa, Finneas, Halle Bailey, and Dove Cameron, and many others.

A Toast to 2022!

Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party
After last year’s success, Miley Cyrus returns to NBC to host her annual New Year’s Eve party live from Miami. And this time around, her legendary godmother Dolly Parton serves as her co-host. They’ll be joined by musical guests Lotto, Lilly, FLETCHER, Rae Sremmurd, and Sia, along with SNL’s Chloe Fineman and Sarah Sherman and the comedy trio, Please Don’t Destroy.
Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party will air live on NBC and stream live on Peacock starting 10:30 PM EST.
New Year's Eve Live
For the sixth year in a row, CNN’s Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen host their own Time Square special. And they have plenty of their own amazing guests, including Emmy-winner Jean Smart and former SNL regular Cheri Oteri. Over in Las Vegas, Kevin Hart joins in for a toast and interview at the Resorts World Theater, while Usher delivers a special performance from his residency at Park MGM. Other performances and appearances from Ellie Goulding, Patty LeBelle, Nick Cannon, and John Stamos. And by 12:30AM, Don Lemon will once again join the fun all the way from New Orleans.
New Years Eve Live will air live on CNN and on the CNN app starting 8 PM EST.
New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash
Get ready to ring in the new year with five hours of your favorite country hits. Hosted by Jimmie Allen, Elle King, and Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith, a grand total of 50 artists will perform at different locations throughout Nashville. Among them are Flo-Rida, Luke Bryan, the Zac Brown Band, Brooks & Dunn, Kelsea Ballerini, and Little Big Town. Even better — they just might invite some special guests to join them on stage throughout the night.
Nashville’s Big Bash will air on CBS and live on Paramount+ starting 8 PM EST.
Lizzo: Live in Concert
Fresh off the release of her brand-new documentary, Love, Lizzo, the rapper/singer/flutist returns to HBO Max on New Year’s Eve. The Grammy-and-Emmy-award-winner will perform some of her biggest hits to ring in 2023. And if it’s anything like all her other live performances, we’re in for a wild and unique experience that pulls out all the stops.
Lizzo: Live in Concert will stream on HBO Max beginning December 31, 2022.
Best of Standup 2022
For years now, Netflix has offered up many incredible stand-up specials from the best comedians around. And with the likes of Trevor Noah, Chelsea Handler, Gabriel Iglesias, and the late Norm MacDonald, 2022 was no exception. That’s why, on New Year’s Eve, they’re giving us a clip show of some of the best performances of the year. After all, ending the year with a good laugh is always a great idea for us at the Elf Squad.
